Sunday June 29th An Italian Seafood Lunch with Michela Tartaglia of Pasta Casalinga

$240.00
sold out

Michela Tartaglia was gracious to come back to the farm this summer to spend the day with us teaching us how to make great Italian food. Michela was born in Turin in Piedmont and for the past 18 years has lived in Seattle. She is the owner of the much loved Pasta Casalinga in the Pike Place Market. I always enjoy having lunch at her shop and know this class will be remarkable.

For this summer class, she has chosen to prepare a seafood menu to showcase a variety of cooking skills. The antipasti will be Insalata estiva Siciliana, a summer Sicilian salad of fennel, orange, red pickled onions, golden raisins, Gaeta olives and sardines.

For the primo piatto, Michela will be teaching Spaghetti alla chitarra fatti a mano alle vongole, cannellini e capperi. The pasta is spaghetti alla chitarra and we will all make the pasta in a hands-on manner. The pasta will be served with PNW Manila clams, cannellini and capers.

The secondo piatto will be Impepata di cozze con pancetta, made with Penn Cove mussels and pancetta, followed by Stuffed calamari alla Luciana.

And of course you will all learn how to make the dessert Tiramisu veloce al limone, a fast lemon tiramisu.

It is sure to be a memorable day at the farm, come and join Michela as we prepare this Italian lunch.

The price of the class also includes a copy of Michela's newest book: Pasta for all Seasons, published by Sasquatch Press.
