Sunday September 22nd Fried Chicken with Chef Dre Neely of Gravy Vashon
Dre Neeley is certainly the most charming chef on Vashon and also a fabulous cook. I am excited that he will be teaching a fried chicken class here at the farm this summer. He has an excellent restaurant on Vashon serving some of the best food the Island has to offer and fried chicken is often on the menu there.
This summer Dre will be teaching us techniques for his fried chicken. He grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and will bring the best techniques to class this summer. The chicken will be entirely gluten free which will be a relief for many and will include spicy honey sauce. The sides will be a cabbage and fennel slaw with apples and horseradish dressing; cheddar and green onion drop biscuits and the final course will be buttermilk sweet biscuits with a fruit compote. With some luck peaches might still be available during this class.
